We are a congregation that takes seriously the teaching of the Bible and the centrality of the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Though far from perfect we are striving to live out our mission to be obedient, worshiping, and reproducible disciples of Jesus Christ. This mission taken from Matthew 28:16-20 is what we strive for under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the Lordship of Jesus Christ our Lord.

We would love to have you visit with us and experience the family of God through a loving and caring local church. We are a Southern Baptist church with strong and conservative biblical values. We love being a part of the greater community of Zebulon, North Carolina, a small town just east of Raleigh. Come see us! You can relax when you visit Wakefield Central. No one is going to single you out or put a visitor sticker on you. You will be warmly welcomed as you enter. Ushers will be available if you have questions.

Relaxed and the dress is generally casual. You will see everything from a suit and tie to jeans and shorts. At Wakefield Central you can relax, enjoy the service, and be yourself.

We have a band with upbeat contemporary music as well as traditional choir. You’ll hear songs you can relate to; contemporary and some traditional ones.

We are passionate about helping children come to know and love Jesus. We desire to see all children to have the opportunity to hear about Jesus while in a safe, clean and loving environment. We offer a loving nursery and a preschool program for our little ones. Age specific classes are offered for children. All volunteers who work with our children and youth have been through a background screening process.
We have a well-staffed, safe nursery for infants and toddlers up to 23 months of age. The nursery is located conveniently near the worship area so you have quick access to your child. We are a church with young families, so we all understand what it’s like to have babies!
A person may join by making an appointment with one of our Pastors or going to one of the Pastors standing in the front at the end of a service and express your desire to join. Any questions you may have will be answered and we will aguide you through this process. If you are simply interested in finding out more about Wakefield, you can attend one of our new membership classes. The class will not only help you have a better understanding of who we are and how we function, but there is also a tour and you will meet others on staff.

We recognize that we have a lot of doors and entrances. Here’s some helpful info: Checking in a Preschooler or Checking in a Child (grades 1-5) ? Park in the parking lot and enter through the door with the white awning. Senior Adult/Handicapped parking is available directly in front of our church office with designated signs for your convenience. You can also find handicapped parking at every entrance. We also have greeters available to assist you.
