The God of Intentionality

As I read Scripture I sometimes get the sense that God acts in random ways at random times. Yet, as I begin to really focus on the events and circumstances under which he acts and when he acts a deeper meaning begins to unravel that we 21st century people miss. The Bible is a collection of literature that spreads over some 1,000 years of God acting in and through history. So, we must read Scripture with this in mind and how that applies to us. Read more…

The online urban dictionary quotes Sophocles: ‘One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love. 
Not to be the guy who sees the glass half-empty but I’m not sold on the idea that this one word will free us from the ‘weight and pain of life.’ I love my wife and family, but there is still some pain I experience.
